I was inspired to make this piece when I saw the cone-shaped tin in an antique store. It took a while to find just the right sized tin with the right graphics for the "shirt" part of the body. To that I added a vintage pressure gauge for the head, a bead and a random piece of metal for her bow tie, a scrap piece of metal from a lamp for her neckline, and a scrap piece of beaded chain for her necklace. Her arms are created with nuts and spoons and she holds a lag shield that serves as a "vase." (A lag shield is a type of fastener inserted into concrete to hold a lag bolt.) The "vase" is filled flowers made from beads, wire, and a couple of decorative picks as flowers. Her legs are wooden skittles that sit on a base made from a leftover wall outlet plate and two round escutcheon plates.
